Privacy, Report Use, and Publication/Distribution Limitations
Confidentiality and File Security
Text, files, sample sections, attachments, images, notes, explanations, and application content sent to 451 Atelier are treated as confidential.
451 Atelier reviews submitted content solely for the purpose of providing the requested service. These services may include demo evaluation, first-5-page preliminary evaluation, developmental editing, copyediting, editorial consulting, proposal preparation, report delivery, and related communication processes.
Submitted texts and files will not, without the sender's explicit written permission, be published, shared on social media, used as examples on the website, shared with third parties, used for promotion/advertising or portfolio purposes, reproduced, or made public.
However, to the extent necessary to provide the service, submitted content may be viewed by the 451 Atelier team, relevant editors, consultants, technical support providers, or others involved in the service process. This access is limited solely to fulfilling the service and only to the extent required.
451 Atelier takes reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect the confidentiality of submitted files. However, the sender accepts that ordinary security risks arising from file transfer over the internet, email use, third-party software, or technical systems may not be entirely eliminated.
Use Rights for Submitted Texts
By uploading text or a file to 451 Atelier, the sender does not transfer ownership, copyright, or authorship of the relevant content to 451 Atelier. All copyright and authorship rights in the submitted text remain with the rights holder.
The sender grants 451 Atelier only a limited, temporary, service-related, and revocable permission to review/evaluate the content for the sole purpose of providing the requested service.
451 Atelier has no right to publish, sell, reproduce, adapt, use as training material, share on social media, or transfer the submitted text to third parties in its own name. Such uses are possible only with the sender's separate explicit written permission.
Limits on Use of Editorial Reports
All reports and evaluations prepared by 451 Atelier—including demo evaluations, first-5-page reports, developmental editing reports, copyediting notes, editorial opinions, recommendation texts, and similar materials—constitute 451 Atelier's editorial labor and intellectual work.
The report provided to the sender is prepared solely for the sender's personal reading, use during the writing process, and work on their own text.
Without 451 Atelier's written permission, the sender may not publish the report or any part of it on social media, share it on a website, distribute it to third parties, use it for commercial or promotional purposes, share it with another editor/publisher/agency/platform/institution, publish it by altering/shortening/removing it from context, or present it as 451 Atelier's endorsement/reference.
The report in whole or in part may be quoted, shared, or used for promotional purposes only with 451 Atelier's explicit written permission.
Nature and Binding Effect of the Report
Reports prepared by 451 Atelier constitute editorial evaluation and professional opinion based on the submitted text.
The report does not constitute legal review, copyright verification, plagiarism reporting, a publisher acceptance guarantee, a sales guarantee, a publication guarantee, academic suitability approval, or a representation/agency commitment.
The opinions and recommendations in the report are editorial in nature. The final decision and discretion regarding the text belong to the author/sender.
Sharing the Report with Third Parties
The sender may use the report personally in their own writing process. However, written permission from 451 Atelier is required to share the report with third parties.
Sharing without 451 Atelier's permission is not acceptable if the report is removed from context, altered, selectively used by highlighting only positive/negative parts, misrepresents 451 Atelier's professional opinion, or creates the impression of approval/guarantee.
Portfolio, Reference, and Promotional Use
Without the sender's explicit written permission, 451 Atelier does not use the submitted text, report, author name, file name, workflow, or editorial evaluation for portfolio, reference, social media sharing, website content, training material, or promotional purposes.
Retention and Deletion
451 Atelier may retain submitted files and prepared reports for a reasonable period for service delivery, record-keeping, and tracking possible communication and service history.
After the service process is completed, the sender may request deletion of their file. Mandatory retention required by legal obligations, invoicing/record processes, or potential disputes is reserved.
